Acrylic Bathtubs

      Today's marketplace offers many different styles and designs of bathtubs.  Acrylic bathtubs are lightweight which makes these types of bathtubs easier to manoeuvre and install, particularly for upstairs bathrooms.  Acrylic bathtubs even though they are lightweight are strong and durable.

Acrylic bathtubs are ideal for whirlpool tubs because they are able to mold acrylic in larger sizes.  They are said to be more scratch resistant than figerglass and should you get a scratch they are easily fixed.  Acrylic tubs are easy to clean using water and a non abrasive cleaner.  Strong chemical cleaners such as those that contain acetates are not recommended because they can break down the material in acrylic bathtubs.

Acrylic bathtubs are known to be hard wearing, less expensive and much lighter weight than cast iron or steel.  Part of the appeal of using acrylic for bathtubs is their resistance to staining, cracking and chipping.  Acrylic is also known for its ability to retain heat.  Bathtubs made of acrylic can be found in a wide range of color choices and styles including whirlpool tubs and acrylic clawfoot tubs.
